Below you'll find the resources (people, books, websites, etc.) that I've sought out/used/which have inspired me to carry out the work.

People

Guillaume Laurent, wooden shipbuilding trainer at the AFPA in Saint Goustan (Auray). He kindly answered a number of questions I had before starting to re-fit the batten deck, and also after the surprises I had when I dismantled the plywood underneath.

Samir Antri-Bouzar , shipwright in Nantes. A friend of my father who advised me on various occasions on techniques and works. His website https://hivaoa1950.wordpress.com/ details his work on "Hiva Oa", a 1950 ketch, and his preparation for La Longue Route.

Leo Sampson Goolden, also a shipwright, has been renovating "Tally Ho", a traditional 1909 sailing boat, since 2017. Although I've never contacted him, Leo has inspired and taught me a great deal through his videos (very well done) which relate his work. I encourage anyone who's curious to visit his website https://sampsonboat.co.uk/, it's a goldmine of practical and theoretical information!

Andrew Humphries, owner since 2012 of an Atlantic 38 "Memories". His website http://www.atlantic38.com/ details his work, but is also a source of information on the Atlantic 38 class. Andrew keeps a list of the various known boats by the same architect. When I was considering the purchase of Melody, I was able to see the boat's potential once renovated... and it made me dream.

Thierry Dubois, an experienced sailor and builder of the schooner "La Louise". I came across his videos of the boat's construction and followed his work right up to the launch. He now sails in the Arctic in charter mode https://lalouise.fr/. The idea of travelling to faraway places really inspires me.

Literature

"Restoring and maintaining wooden boats", published by Chasse-Marée, was a great help: the book details the various repairs and techniques to be used on a wooden boat. Quite simply, it's a goldmine! I think I own the first edition (2000), and there was another in 2006. Unfortunately it's hard to find...

"Construire son bateau en bois" by François Vivier is, in my opinion, aimed more at people undertaking the construction of a new boat. Nevertheless, it's a fine, detailed compendium of techniques.
